Max's piano recital

Max had his first piano recital tonight and he did great. He played The Squeaky Stairs by Christopher Goldston. He just started playing in January and he is doing great. He had his piece all memorized. She even told his funny story at the beginning, at lessons this week she told him he had to wear his Sunday dress and he told her he did not want to wear a dress.

Good job Max you did amazing.

Sorry my camera skills are lacking at the start

Nick's 1st big boy hair cut

My baby boy is growing up too fast.

He had his first haircut on April 5th. He was so good and held as still as a 9 month old can. His eyes look even bigger when his hair is short, just like his big brother Max.

Fun night away...

Well since it was spring break and Max was feeling like he was the only kid that did not get to do anything for it, we decided we better fix that. I took Friday off of work and Jake worked 1/2 day and we headed for (hang on to your socks) the big city!

I love that staying in a hotel is totally awesome to an 8 year old and 4 year old even when your only 30 miles from home!!! Well I forgot the camera so no cute pictures of my kids....

So we stayed at Little America and the kids loved the view from our room in the tower. They thought it was really cool that the bathroom had a phone. And Kate loved the little bench to sit on in the dressing room.

We went to Gourmandise-The Bakery and had a delicious treat. Max had a raspberry tartlette, Jake had a Peach, Kate had gingerbread men and I had a cannoli. YUMMY! I think this may be my new favorite place that I will dream about! No wonder I can never lose weight.

Then we got on Trax and headed over to Gateway to the Children's Museum. The kids had so much fun. Kate loves the grocery store and house. She told me she could live there. Max had fun making comic strips and playing up on the 3rd floor. And even little Nick Knack had fun. He found a little bug car that they push with their feet and he was going all over in reverse. He would crash into something and giggle! He is so funny because he thinks he is as big as Max and Kate and could care less if he is being trampled by someone, he just wants to do what they are doing! The kids were starving and Max wanted Sushi so we just walked over to The Happy Sumo. I love the bento boxes. Max had California rolls and Kate had teriyaki chicken and some of Jake's rolls too. Nick kept me busy shelling edamme beans. I swear there is not one thing that kid does not like. Pork chop loves food!!!
After dinner we went back to the hotel and went swimming at the pool. It was a fun pool, it was really warm and half of the pool was outdoors. Max thought that was awesome to be swimming under the stars, even when it was cold cold outside! I have 3 little fish they did not want to get out.

This morning we went to breakfast and then drove home through Park City and stopped at the outlet mall for a little while. The kids did not think that was the best but nothing a little bribery at Harry & Davids can't fix. All in all it was a fun little trip. Nick is happy to have his bed back and Kate and Max wish we could go to the pool again tonight!
